WHAT ARE THE NODES IN MY CHART?
“It is often said the nodes, particularly in astrology, are our “purpose.”
But our purpose isn’t a single thing. It isn’t something we find, earn, or achieve.
Our purpose is to BE ourselves and, in that being, come to know ourselves as the Divine playing a game of hide and seek with itself.
In the context of Human Design, our Incarnation Cross describes how that journey unfolds over time. The conscious sun, in particular, is the primary “tool” along the way. As we expand our capacity to steward the energy of the conscious sun, our divinity comes out of hiding and our wholeness is revealed.
And every other gate in the chart plays a supporting role in that stewardship.
But because of our conditioning, and the very nature of the game of hide and seek, our purpose does not always seem clear. It’s a normal part of being human for it to feel hidden—especially early in life.
And the nodes are key tools in our remembering. All throughout our lives, they give us growth edges to work through and integrate. As we stretch into them, the curtain on purpose gets pulled back little by little. Eventually, we start to see what was always there: the Divine within.
Ironically enough, that shift changes everything in business and how we value our work. The nodes point us toward the people seeking our help and the kind of value they’re looking for.
For now, note that the nodal journey unfolds in two phases.
In the first part of our life, we are being asked to grow (and create value for others) in the area of our South Node. And once we go through our Uranus Opposition (which happens around age forty-two and marks a shift from foundation-building to purpose-living), the South Node becomes our comfort zone and we start stretching our edges with the North Node.”

This series follows an alternating cycle of the Yin path of the divine feminine in harmony with the Yang path of the divine masculine. These are energies we each have within us that naturally seek harmony in two ways: interior AWARENESS and exterior EXPRESSION.
We define each cycle as a 2 week time frame, which is in sync with the time it takes for the moon to wax or wane.
